| The Director of Clinical Documentation Management for this northern Kentucky hospital system provides effective leadership by assuming responsibility for the appropriate orientation, ongoing education, evaluation and utilization of department staff with a primary focus on annual performance metrics and continuous quality improvement. This Director improves revenue enhancement through effective management of inpatient clinical documentation and communicates effectively with physicians and facility staff to ensure positive department and patient quality outcomes. 5 years of experience and a bachelors degree is required. We also have a CDI Manager position in northern Virginia. It is also with a great health-care system. This position’s job description is below:
- Oversees the operations of the Clinical Documentation Improvement Program across the Health System hospitals.
- Manages departmental staff including day-to-day supervision, employee relations and staff development.
- Manages the fiscal activities of the department. Functions as the super-user and trainer for the Clinical Documentation Improvement System and all application software used by CDS staff to code and assign working MS-DRG, APR-DRG, SOI, ROM.
- Works with Epic HIM team on transition to Epic EMR and use of Computer Assisted Editing software (CAE).
- Serves as the lead educational resource for all internal customers on CDI program effectiveness and requirements related to compliant documentation for DRG revenue assurance, compliance and quality outcomes.
- Conducts concurrent record reviews at least 10 hours per week.
- Interacts with treating physicians, nurses, case managers, quality staff and coders to ensure complete and compliant treating physician documentation to support MS-DRG along with APR-DRG and Severity of Illness (SOI) and Risk of Mortality.

Congratulations to the Health Information Management Department!
Their “Baking for a Cure” bake sale in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month netted $661.00 to benefit the Pink Ribbon Fund.
The Pink Ribbon Fund allows women access to diagnostic procedures they may not otherwise be able to afford, such as mammograms, biopsies, etc. For women found with a malignancy, the fund provides for breast cancer therapy essentials, such as wigs, living expenses, prostheses, lymph-edema sleeves and other medical supplies.
